Travel Subsidies

Connecting Minds will be awarding a limited number of travel subsidies in the amount of $100.

Please specify your interest in being considered for a travel subsidy by indicating "yes" on the travel subsidy option on the CM2012 Abstract Submission form. Subsidies will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • Only applicants traveling from outside the Lower Mainland/Fraser Valley region will be considered eligible.
  • Only those presenting research at the conference are eligible.
  • Subsidies are limited to one per registrant and one per project.
Recipients will be expected to produce valid ID and travel receipts (e.g., airfare, hotel accommodations, gas receipts, bus fare) at the conference travel subsidy desk in order to claim their subsidy. All reimbursements will be mailed to successful applicants. It may take up to one month post conference to receive your travel subsidy.

Hilton Hotel Accommodations

The Hilton Hotel will once again be graciously supplying rooms at a discount to all those attending the conference. The Hilton Hotel is located minutes away from shopping and a short skytrain ride from Vancouver. All rooms feature separate living and sleeping areas as well as beautiful views. King Bed Junior Suites feature one king-sized bed, with pull-out sofa. In addition, conference attendees will also enjoy access to the heated rooftop swimming pool. Note: The following directions are primarily provided to international attendees that will be landing at the Vancouver International Airport in Richmond, BC, Canada. However, the map provided is dynamic and can be actively manipulated to show directions from anywhere in the world. The Connecting Minds Conference is being held at the Kwantlen Polytechnic University, Richmond Campus (8771 Lansdowne Rd).

The Hilton offers a complimentary shuttle service from the airport and attendees are encouraged to take advantage of this free service (only available to attendees that have booked rooms with the Hilton). Please visit their website for more details.
