

Connecting Minds (CM) is an annual undergraduate research conference in psychology hosted by Kwantlen Polytechnic University. What makes Connecting Minds unique?

CM is the furthest reaching undergraduate conference of its kind, drawing researchers from across Canada, the United States and even Europe! Since its inauguration in 2008, Connecting Minds has hosted over 300 presentations representing over 30 schools.

CM has an exclusively undergraduate focus, featuring a wide variety of high caliber
research. CM features both poster and oral presentation mediums.

CM presents graduate panels, grant application panels, and social events aimed towards the interests of undergraduate students.

CM has featured several world-renowned keynote speakers such as Drs. Eliot Aronson and Albert Bandura, both recognized among the top 100 most eminent psychologists of the 20th century.
Presenting Dr. Elizabeth Loftus
Dr. Loftus is a Distinguished Professor in the Department of Psychology and Social Behavior, the Department of Criminology, Law, and Society, and the Department of Cognitive Sciences. She is a Fellow of The Center for the Neurobiology of Learning and Memory at the University of California Irvine, and a Fellow of the Committee of Skeptical Inquiry's CSICOP Executive Council. She is also a Professor of Law.

Dr. Loftus has been involved in the trials of Ted Bundy, O. J. Simpson, and the Hillside Stranglers. She is a member of the Scientific and Professional Advisory Board of the False Memory Syndrome Foundation.
A study published by the Review of General Psychology identifying the 100 most eminent psychologists of the 20th century identified Dr. Loftus as the top-ranked woman. She has been the president of the Association for Psychological Science, the Western Psychological Association, and the American Psychology - Law Society.
Dr. Loftus was the 2005 recipient of the University of Louisville Grawemeyer Award for Psychology. In February 2011, she received the 2010 AAAS Scientific Freedom and Responsibility Award.
Dr. Loftus' keynote address this year is titled "Manufacturing Memories."
